World Dairy Expo Finalizes 2013 Judge Selections

Sixteen judges will preside over the eight-breed dairy show this October.

The World Dairy Expo this week announced selection of 16 judges to evaluate more than 2,500 head of dairy cattle at the 2013 World Dairy Expo.

Seven breed champions will be selected in the junior and open shows by the conclusion of the show, each of which will go on to compete for World Dairy Expo Supreme Champion.

Judges selected to evaluate at the 2013 WDE include:

International Ayrshire Show: Paul Trapp, Taylor, Wis.; Associate Judge: Keith Topp, Botkins, Ohio

International Brown Swiss Show: Richard Hill, Cattaraugus, N.Y.; Associate Judge: Joe Sparrow, Frankfort, Ky.

International Guernsey Show: Gary Estes, Rogersfield, Mo.; Associate Judge: Bob Griggs, Seminole, Okla.

International Holstein Show: Justin Burdette, Mercersburg, Pa.; Associate Judge: Gus Schwartzbeck, Union Bridge, Md.

International Jersey Show: Callum McKinven, Canton de Hatley, Quebec, Canada; Associate Judge: Stephen Borland, Ormstown, Quebec, Canada

International Milking Shorthorn Show: Lynn Harbaugh, Marion, Wis.; Associate Judge: Katie Bue, Alma Center, Wis.

International Red & White Show: Michael Heath, Westminster, Md.; Associate Judge: Mike Berry, Albany, Ore. 

International Junior Holstein Show: Pat Conroy, Angola, Ind.; Associate Judge: Esteban Posada R., Queretaro, Mexico

World Dairy Expo is recognized as the largest dairy-focused event in the world. The 2013 World Dairy Expo theme will be "Center of the Dairy Universe". In addition to the dairy cattle show, the newest dairy industry innovations and research concepts will be unveiled and shared with Expo visitors.

Dairy producers from across the globe are invited to attend the event that includes eight dairy cattle shows, Expo Seminars, Virtual Farm Tours, youth competition and over 850 exhibiting trade show companies featuring dairy management products and services.
