USDA Announces 2007 Outlook Forum

USDA's 83rd annual Outlook Forum will take place March 1-2, 2007, in Arlington, Va., and will focus on bioenergy issues.

The USDA will hold its 83rd annual Outlook Forum on March 1-2, 2007, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, Ag Secretary Mike Johanns announced Friday.

The 2007 Forum, titled "Agriculture at the Crossroads: Energy, Farm & Rural Policy," will focus on bioenergy and its potential effects upon agriculture.

"USDA's 2007 Forum will consider the outlook for renewable energy and the enormous opportunity it represents for agriculture and rural America," says Johanns. "Perspectives on the next farm bill will also be featured during the two day event."

Johanns will deliver the forum's keynote address, four leading U.S. CEOs will take participate in a panel discussion called "Renewable Energy - Inroads to Agriculture" moderated by Scott Kilman of the Wall Street Journal, among over 100 speakers and moderators. The Forum will also include 35 sessions, dealing with topics such as U.S. commodities outlooks.
