Rural Development Under Secretary Takes To Twitter

In 140 characters, USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development will answer questions from the public using #AskUSDA hashtag.

On June 19, Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Doug O’Brien will host the June USDA virtual office hours on Twitter. O’Brien will discuss agency support of broadband, education, medical, and water quality projects in rural America.

O’Brien will also discuss efforts by USDA to provide home ownership opportunities to limited-income rural residents and to help them refinance their homes to take advantage of historically low interest rates.

During the live Twitter chat, O’Brien will answer questions from the public, which can be submitted in advance to the @USDA Twitter account using the hashtag #AskUSDA.

USDA Virtual Office Hours, a monthly live question and answer series allows stakeholders to directly engage with USDA leadership and subject matter experts through Twitter. Sessions will be focused on a specific mission, issue or program, as aligned with the Department’s strategic goals and based on stakeholder interests.
