Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, will be changing the company name effective July 1, 2012.

The new business will be called DuPont Pioneer.

The name change is to reflect DuPont's continuing participation in the agricultural and food industries. The new name allows DuPont and Pioneer to work closer together, strengthening their alignment publicly.

The company released a statement regarding the name change Wednesday.

"The DuPont Pioneer goal remains the same - to provide the best products, services and information to help growers get the highest return on every acre they farm. Nothing in that commitment will change, and Pioneer remains an important brand as it has been for more than 85 years," wrote DuPont Pioneer Sales and Marketing Public Relations Manager Jerry Harrington.
