Buhler Industries, makers of Versatile equipment in Winnipeg, Can., is introducing a new series of precision air drills with ALIVE technology.

The ALIVE acronym includes: "Accurate seed placement with Level, Independent openers for uncompromised Vertical Emergence of crops", according to company literature. The system incorporates independent shank technology, mechanical linkages and seed furrow selection to achieve its goals.

Unlike traditional parallel link drills, the ML930 and ML950 do not relay on hydraulics to maintain a constant seeding depth, packing pressure or trip force. Frame height is adjustable up or down to increase or decrease packing pressure, which allows the operator to pass through soft areas and over harder spots while maintaining consistent seeding capabilities.

The new ML Series air drill from Versatile includes two models to stretch the companys precision seeding equipment lineup.

Seed furrow selection is controlled from the cab.

The new models come only 18 months after Versatile entered the precision seeding and tillage market.
