Farmers have begun receiving surveys for the Census of Agriculture, but Ron Bosecker will not be overseeing the compilation of data. The National Agricultural Statistics Service administrator retired Thursday.
Appointed to the position in 1999, Bosecker has served NASS for more than 40 years, holding positions in Illinois, Ohio and California field offices as well as several leadership roles with the agency in Washington.
Bosecker's tenure with NASS was marked by collaborative efforts between NASS and other USDA agencies to strengthen partnerships and improve the efficiency of data collection. NASS' Associate Administrator Joseph Reilly will serve as acting administrator until a new one is selected.
