The new 3230 Xtra Fastrac tractor from JCB is the beginning of the company's 3000 Series, and comes with a Tier 4a compliant engine by Sisu and improved performance and operator comfort.

The 3230 features GPS Auto-Steer ready options, new road performance equipment including ABS braking, larger tire size options, a revised chassis for improved turning capability and a new fender desng to keep the cab windows cleaner.

Ray Bingley, JCB Inc.'s agricultural general manager says the changes build on the P-Tronic Xtra transmission the company introduced last year in producing one of the more sophisticated tractors in the industry.

The new 3230 Xtra Fastrac tractor from JCB marks the beginning of a new series to offer customers more productivity and fuel efficiency.

The 3230 features 749 pound-feet of torque and a 270 horsepower engine rating. The engine features high efficiency combustion and breathes through a selective catalyst reduction (SCR) system with no diesel particulate filter. An enhanced cooling system gives the new machine better visibility over the hood and the redesign offers less cab noise and more fuel efficiency.

The machines feature a new Road Performance Package including Traction Assist and Hill Hold. A new anti-lock braking system also helps in transport mode and in slippery field conditions.

The 3230 is being upgraded to 540/65R34 tires all around as standard and a 600/70R30 with the same rolling circumference becomes the widest and tallest factory-fitted tire option. New fenders front and rear cover more of each tire to reduce the amount of water and mud sprayed onto the cab and windows.

The power-assist steering now comes Guidance Ready so operators can add a full-feature auto-steer system at will.

Hydraulically, the 3000 Series features an adjustable 37 gpm system and the P-Tronic semi-powershift transmission with 24 forward and nine reverse ratios -- with six power shift steps.
