Farmers Should See Cheaper Diesel Ahead

Energy market slumps hard after latest inventory.

While diesel prices stayed stubbornly strong last month despite a big break in crude oil, farmers should see lower fuel prices soon. That could provide a good seasonal buying opportunity to begin refilling storage tanks for fall needs.

Diesel resisted the break seen across the energy complex, strengthening basis at both the retail and wholesale levels. But a big build in supplies in the latest week could begin to dent that psychology.

Indeed, the energy market slumped hard again on Wednesday, after the government released its latest Petroleum Inventory.
