Farmers and Ranchers Asked to Tell Agriculture's Story

Congress wants producers to others of the importance of agriculture.
Compiled by staff
Published: Mar 25, 2011

The Chairman of the House Ag Committee, Frank Lucas, R-Okla., says in a feature released by the House Ag Committee that farmers and ranchers need to help those who will be writing farm policy in the months ahead. Lucas says if you care about farming and ranching in this country- you are needed to remind everyone in your circle of influence of the importance and the relevance of today's production agricultural system.

"Frankly, as the Agriculture Committee prepares to write the 2012 Farm Bill, we need your help in getting the attention of my colleagues who may not be on the committee, who may not be from the countryside, and who may not know just how important American agriculture is to our country," Lucas said.

Lucas says Congress needs a corps of citizen activists who care about the future of production agriculture and rural America; folks who are ready to tell the story of how agriculture continues to be our wisest pursuit.
