Delo Releases New HD Motor Oil Focused on Fuel Economy

Chevron says new product can deliver up to 3.6% fuel economy improvement in class 6 trucks

Published on: Mar 21, 2013

Chevron Products Company, maker of the Delo brand of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and coolants, Thursday announced its latest product, Delo 400 XLE Synblend SAE 10W-30, which can deliver over 3% fuel economy improvement in class 6 trucks relative to SAE 15W-40 diesel motor oils.

The product is formulated for use in modern on-highway, low emissions engines as well as older diesel engines. It will also perform in modern off-highway engines where an SAE 10W-30 viscosity grade is recommended, including those adapted for future emissions standards in construction, agriculture, marine and mining applications.

Delo 400 XLE Synblend SAE 10W-30 is a premium synthetic blend fuel economy and mixed fleet motor oil recommended for naturally aspirated and turbocharged four-stroke diesel engines and four-stroke gasoline engines in which the API CJ-4 or SM service category and SAE 10W-30 viscosity grade are recommended.

New product shows up to 3.6% fuel economy improvement in short-haul, class 6 vehicles and up to 1% improvement in long-haul, class 8 trucks

"We understand that fleets are under constant costs pressures. Any product that can help reduce fuel consumption is important for fleets to consider," said Jim Gambill, North America commercial and industrial brand manager, Chevron Products Company.

Delo 400 XLE Synblend SAE 10W-30 is approved for API Service Categories CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4 and SM. It also meets the requirements of Caterpillar ECF-3, ECF-2, Cummins CES 20081, DDC 93K218, Mack EO-O Premium Plus, Renault VI RLD-3 and Volvo VDS-4.
