Case IH, Great Plains Ink Twin-Row Planter Agreement

Great Plains will build twin-row planters for Case IH to sell through its dealership network

Great Plains Division of Great Plains Manufacturing has just signed on with Case IH to build twin-row planters bearing the Case IH brand. The planters will be sold through Case IH dealerships.

"This agreement allows Case IH to expand our offering while continuing to support and expand our Early Riser planter lineup," says Bill Preller, senior director of Case IH's specialty business. "Case IH is pleased to partner with Great Plains, a leader in twin-row technology."

The agreement will allow Case IH dealers to expand sales to what appears to be a rosy market for twin-row technology in the coming years, as producers seek to boost plant populations in row crops without drastically changing their existing management move to narrow rows.

"Great Plains has been at the forefront in design and manufacturing twin row planters," says Linda Salem, Great Plains Manufacturing CEO. This agreement will allow Case IH to make a strong entry into the fast growing market, she explains.

Twin-row technology involves staggering seed in two rows, seven or eight inches apart on 30-inch centers, so a corn head set for 30 inch rows can harvest twin rows at the same time. The technology also applies to soybeans, cotton, grain sorghum and sunflowers.
