The rise of Brazil as a major supplier of key commodities to the world market has been a modern market miracle, but understanding the impact of the crop grown below the equator and what it means to the American farmer is a challenging puzzle. Farm Futures Market Analyst Arlan Suderman will help solve the puzzle with the aid of Joao Carlos Kopp, a Brazilian market analyst and broker who is traveling to the 2012 Farm Progress Show.

The Wednesday conversation starts at Noon, with a second round of talk on the hot topic of the day - the Brazilian market.
"Understanding how the U.S. and Brazilian market interact in global trade is increasingly important for today's business farmer," Suderman says. "Joao and I will hold a global conversation about production in Brazil, how the U.S. drought will impact global trade, and the impact of uncertainty in Europe."
U.S. farmers have been impacted by a range of factors in the past year, from the bankruptcy of MF Global to continued weakness in the Euro and worries about the stability of the Eurozone. Brazil even suffered a severe drought for its first-crop corn this year. However, timely rains made a difference on the second crop. Yet questions remain about how much Brazil can make up in the next six months in the face of the lowest yielding U.S. crop since 1995.
