Game leader John VanSickle is back in the saddle and filed this report today:

Team Standings

We now have 11 teams that have officially started their trading as part of the competition. There are 3 teams that have registered a profit in their trading activities and 8 teams that have registered a loss in their trading activities. I follow a practice in the SEMC of never publishing the names of teams or individuals that lose money in their trading activities in this competition. The three teams that have registered a profit thus far in the competition are:

1) Ford Cotton 09 (AL) $91,313

2) Okaloo Farm Traders(FL) $15,227

3) Invest-a-Gators 09(FL) $2,171

Cotton 09 is the current leader in the competition being led by Neal Isbell and Steve Ford. They have been trading cotton, soybeans and corn, having made most of their money in cotton. The Okaloo Farm Traders of Florida is currently running second in the competition with Shannon Nixon and Eric Evers leading the way for their team. They have made most of their money in the grain markets. The Invest-a-Gators is led by Bruce Ward, Extension agent for the Panhandle's Walton County. He has made most of his money in soybeans.

Individual Standings. We now have 39 traders who have taken the plunge and have registered trades in the competition. Of these, 14 traders (4 fewer than in the last report) have registered a profit in the competition and 25 have registered a loss. The 14 profitable traders in the competition at this time are:

1) Guillermo Franco, AIR Team 2009 - $45,027

2) Tim Doggett, AIR Team 2009 - $44,875

3) Neal Isbell, Ford Cotton 09 - $41,772

4) Shannon Nixon, Okaloo Farm Traders - $31,280

5) Steve Ford, Ford Cotton09 - $22,816

6) Curt Lacey, Georgia Bulldawgs - $7,900

7) Eric Evers, Okaloo Farm Traders - $7,632

8) Bruce Ward, Invest-a-Gators09 - $7,015

9) Pete Keiser, Tennessee Traders - $4,852

10) Tammy McKinley, Volunteer One - $4,207

11) Marshal Lamb, Georgia Bulldawgs - $4,157

12) John VanSickle, Florida Milk Money - $2,980

13) Gerald Edmondson, Okaloo Farm Traders - $667

14) Brian Campbell, Volunteer Two - $482

Guillermo Franco and Tim Doggett of AIR Team 2009 are leading the individual competition with profits of $45,027 and $44,875 respectively. Both individuals have been trading the grain markets. Neal Isbell of Ford Cotton09 is a close third with profits of $41,772 having traded the grains and cotton.
