Game leader John VanSickle is back in the saddle and filed this report today:
Team Standings
We now have 11 teams that have officially started their trading as part of the competition. There are 3 teams that have registered a profit in their trading activities and 8 teams that have registered a loss in their trading activities. I follow a practice in the SEMC of never publishing the names of teams or individuals that lose money in their trading activities in this competition. The three teams that have registered a profit thus far in the competition are:
1) Ford Cotton 09 (AL) $91,313
2) Okaloo Farm Traders(FL) $15,227
3) Invest-a-Gators 09(FL) $2,171
Cotton 09 is the current leader in the competition being led by Neal Isbell and Steve Ford. They have been trading cotton, soybeans and corn, having made most of their money in cotton. The Okaloo Farm Traders of Florida is currently running second in the competition with Shannon Nixon and Eric Evers leading the way for their team. They have made most of their money in the grain markets. The Invest-a-Gators is led by Bruce Ward, Extension agent for the Panhandle's Walton County. He has made most of his money in soybeans.
